Putting our patients and planet first
We're committed to making a difference: not only in the health of our patients but also for the future of our planet. We introduced our return program in 2016 to ensure our packing material and Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) coolers are reused or recycled responsibly and diverted from our landfills.
Each one of us can make a small difference, but together we can make a big change.
Instructions for returning your cooler
If your medication was delivered in a cooler, we can both help make a positive environmental impact by returning the cooler, packing materials and gel packs through our return program. When returning your cooler, please ensure that all medication has been removed and that any sharps have been safely disposed of in a sharps bin. Please note our return program only accepts coolers provided by BioScript Pharmacy.
To return these items back to our pharmacy - at no additional cost to you - please follow the courier’s instructions as noted below or reference the prepaid return label included in your shipment.
If you have a received a waybill from a local courier agency that is not listed on this page, please call your local pharmacy if you have any questions.

1. Why do you use different couriers?
We select a courier that best matches your specific delivery requirements, which may include shipping to a remote location or your proximity to a post office. This may change from time to time so we have included all of our courier partners return instructions below.
2. What courier should I use to return it?
To make things easy, we take care of that for you in advance. In each shipment we will include a prepaid return waybill from one of our designated couriers.
3. Does it cost me anything to send it back?
No, BioScript covers the cost of returning the coolers back to the pharmacy. The return label provided is prepaid.
4. Am I eligible to return my packing material if I did not recieve my medication in a cooler?
No, our return program only accepts our Expanded Polystyrene coolers, packing materials and gel packs. For all items that don’t meet this criteria, we encourage you to reuse, recycle or dispose of the material.
5. What do you do with the cooler once you get it back?
Great question. Once we receive the cooler and it's contents we give it a good inspection to ensure all items are still in good standing. We then store it in our warehouse for 7 days, after then we will bring it back into rotation. Any items that don't meet our standards are recycled or properly disposed of. In Ontario, all coolers currently returned through the program are returned and stored at A&D Wholesale, a subsidiary of BioScript Solutions.
6. Why did you start the program?
A lot of material and packaging is required to ensure your medication arrives safely and at its optimal temperature. Realizing the potential environmental impact, we launched this program in 2016 in an effort to reuse as much material as possible to divert it away from our landfills.
7. Why do you use Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) containers?
Our coolers are designed to protect your medication during the shipping and handling process. We use Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) coolers to ensure that your medicine is well insulated and remains at a stable temperature until the delivery process is complete.
8. What do I do if I have more than one cooler to return?
In the event that you have more than one cooler on hand, please contact your local BioScript Pharmacy and we will send you additional shipping labels to accommodate your return.
